Inviting New Members to Apply Online

We are back with another edition of Membership Monday! Marianna is back to to share how it is easier than ever to invite new members to join Scouting by using Invitation Manager and online applications. 

Why Apply Online?

1. Efficiency and Speed: Online applications are straightforward and efficient. They can be signed electronically, approved quickly, and once approved, new members will appear on your roster as soon as the next day. This means no more waiting around for paperwork to be processed!

2. Simplified Payments: Parents can pay membership fees directly through the application portal, eliminating the hassle of handling checks and delivering them to the council. This not only saves time but also speeds up the entire processing period.

3. Accuracy: Online applications help reduce errors. Handwritten applications can sometimes be hard to read, leading to mistakes in spelling, birth dates, and other important information. When parents enter this information online, accuracy is greatly improved.

Exciting Incentives for Cub Scouts

This year, we’re offering special incentives for Cub Scouts who register online between August 1st and October 31st. Each new Cub Scout will receive a fun packet in the mail, which includes:

• A car magnet
• A mini magazine
• A “recruit a friend” card
• A water bottle sticker with the slogan “Escape the Indoors”

Kids love getting mail, and these fun packets are designed to engage them immediately and encourage peer-to-peer recruiting.

How to Share Your Invitation Link

Sharing your unit’s invitation link is simple and can be done in two ways:

1. QR Code: You can download the invitation QR code from the Invitation Manager section in My.Scouting. Use this code on brochures, flyers, banners, and more to make it easy for potential members to join.

2. Invitation Link: In the Invitation Manager, you’ll find an invitation link that you can copy and paste into emails or messages. When someone clicks the link, they’ll be taken directly to your unit’s application page.
