New Cub Scout Program Updates: New Handbooks!
We are excited to show off the new handbooks that are rolling out with the updated Cub Scout program. Major changes are amongst the Lion and Tiger Handbooks, but all Cub Scout handbooks and Adult Partner Guides (formerly Den Leader Guides), will have a new, refreshed cover that will have the Scouts grade prominently displayed and a place for their names. These handbooks are already available at our Scout Stores, waiting for you to take them on your next adventure! Watch the short video above to learn what’s in new and be sure to keep following along between now and June 1st as we explain more about the upcoming changes to the Cub Scout program.
Transcript:
Hello everyone, I’m Davawna Davis from the Fort McHenry District and I’m here to talk to you about handbooks!
All handbooks with have the grade level on the cover and a place for Cub Scouts to put their name on it. Talk about ownership!
The Lion handbook goes from 23 pages to 64 pages and will come with an Adult Partner Guide instead of a Den Leader Guide. The Tiger handbook becomes more like the Lion handbook and will also come with an Adult Partner Guide. Both the Lion and Tiger Adult Partner Guides have content to help Adult Partners understand the Cub Scout program and the part they play as an Adult Partner.
The Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light handbooks will be similar to current handbooks.
The Lion and Tiger handbooks are custom-drawn by the same artists who draws the cartoon strips in Scout Life Magazine. There is at least one activity in each book for all the required and elective Adventures.
All new handbooks will be available in your local Scout Shop in the spring. Be sure to get the latest handbooks before you kick off your next year of Scouting!
Keep following for more updates on your next Cub Scout Adventure!
